Summertime is here! Are you looking for a tasty and nutritious summer time snack? Today we have for you a spicy hummus recipe to get your taste buds going. This dip is great with fresh cut vegetables like carrots, celery and bell peppers. Or mix things up and try this hummus as a sandwich spread on your favorite sandwich instead of mayonnaise. This is a great dip to use up seasonal summer veggies and to get your body in bikini condition.

For this recipe you will need:
1 can (14.5 ounce) of garbanzo or cannellini beans
½ cup tahini
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1-2 tablespoons lemon juice
2-4 tablespoons hot sauce like Sriracha
Salt and pepper to taste

Puree the beans, tahini, garlic, oil, lemon, and hot sauce in a food processor. If the mixture is too thick, add 1 tablespoon of water. Puree until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil to serve. Makes about 2 cups. If you really want to feel the heat, use 4 tablespoons of hot sauce. But you might want to start off with 2, taste test and adjust from there.

Traditionally, garbanzo beans are used to make hummus, but cannellini bean are an easy substitute that lighten the dish up a bit. Both beans yield great results, give them both a try!
